The helicopter SH-34, developed by the American company Sikorsky in the first half of the ’50s, was used by a significant number of Countries that have recognized its excellent features. During its career, it has taken part to several conflicts from Algeria to Vietnam. It was one of the last piston-powered helicopter design, produced in huge numbers, before the introduction of turbine-powered types. It was widely used to perform different kinds of duties by U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps. However, thanks to its reliability and sturdiness, it was mainly used as medium transport and utility helicopter. It has also been used in “search and rescue” and MedEvac operations or, in the naval version, as Antisub warfare platform.

After the success of Operation Overlord and the consolidation of the bridgehead on the beaches of Normandy, it was essential to achieve by the Allied troops, a significant penetration through the German defenses. Operation Cobra was the codename of the offensive, planned by Lieutenant General Omar Bradley, that had the goal to break the German defense line around St.Lo and advance towards Brittany and the Seine. The Operation Cobra began on 25th July 1944 with a heavy aerial bombardment and was followed by intense fighting in the difficult terrain of the Norman countryside. The “bocage” created a lot of constraints to the armored vehicles and to the infantry movements and activities. The few reinforcements were employed by Germans in various counterattacks but after some days of fighting the defensive lines collapsed under the pressure of Allied troops. The Operation Cobra completed successfully what began on the Normandy Beaches during the D-Day and was the starting point for the liberation of Paris.

Iveco, to celebrate the 40 years anniversary from its foundation, has created an exclusive special version of its famous heavy track Stralis Hi-Way. The external design is characterized by a metallic blue livery with gray band that cuts the center grille. The interiors are really exclusive with a dedicated set of premium details. The Stralis Hi-Way is the latest evolution of the famous heavy duties truck produced by Iveco. The Stralis Hi-Way is characterized by several technological and aesthetic improvements compared to previous versions. The cabin offers a completely new design and is equipped with integrated electronic systems able to optimize the on-board comfort and to provide the highest safety standard. The evolution of the Stralis is also characterized by a completely new “powertrain” able to minimize the fuel consumption and the maintenance costs. In 2013 Iveco Stralis Hi-Way won the “International Truck of the Year” award assigned by a pool of journalists of the most important European trucks magazines.

The 313th Gruppo Addestramento Acrobatico of the Italian Air Force, better known as Pattuglia Acrobatica Nazionale “Frecce Tricolori”, is based at the airport of Rivolto, in the northern part
of Italy. The “313th” was officially born in 1961 as a very professional and highly specialized acrobatic unit with the purpose to represent, all over the World, the Italian Air Force. At the
beginning the team had been equipped with the Canadair CL-13 “Sabre” and, after few years it has been replaced by the glorious Fiat G-91 PAN. Today the “Frecce Tricolori” flies the two-seat
fighter-trainer Aermacchi MB 339 A and it is the biggest team , with more than 10 airplanes. In the event of 55th Anniversary from the date of its foundation, on 2016, the MB-339 were
painted with a dedicated commemorative livery to point out the history and the tradition of an Italian symbol appreciate all over the World.
M113 ACAV 1/35
The M113 is one of the most famous armored ppersonnel carrier in the history of military vehicles. It has a “fully tracked” layout and it entered service at the beginning of the ‘60s. The M113 was the most widely used armored vehicle of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps in the Vietnam War. Capable of carrying a fully equipped infantry squad, it proved its mobility, reliability and efficiency in the very difficult operational environment of Vietnam characterized by swamps and jungles. The “armored cavalry assault vehicle” or “ACAV” version was developed very soon to improve the fighting effectiveness of M113. The new features implemented on ACAV version were a circular turret armor for the commander’s M2 12.7 mm machine gun and two additional 7.62 mm M60 machine guns, protected by shields, and fitted on either side of the top cargo hatch. On April 1st, 1933 the Germans came out with a new class of ships, the so-called «Pocket Battle Ships» which belonged to the same class as the «Deutschland», the «Graf Spee» and the «Admiral Scheer». Later on the «Deutschland» had to undergo a few changes and was renamed «Lützow». This change of name was made for the simple reason that Hitler could not bear the thought that a ship by the name of «Deutschland» might go down. From the end of 1939 this ship was known as «Lützow». Judging the missions of these ships it has to be considered that they were only battlecruisers with the armament of battleships.

ADMIRAL SCHEER 1/720
The Admiral Scheer was launched on November 12th, 1934 and was among the first German naval forces sent to Spanish waters where the Civil War had broken out on June 17th, 1936. During the first attack at the beginning of the War the Admiral Scheer had to suffer only slight damages. From 1940 to 1941 she took part in the Economic War against Great Britain and could prove her efficiency at the Eastern Front and in Norwegian waters. In October 1944 the Admiral Scheer entered service against Soviet forces. Afterwards she was ordered to Kiel port facilities. In the night of April 10th, 1945 British bomber formations attacked Kiel and its harbour. Five heavy bombs exploded around the ship and the Admiral Scheer capsized.
